Thread: Spare wheel

I always carry a spare wheel, as compressor and goo kits cannot 100% guarentee a repair. (Note these pictures are Right Hand Drive cars as I am from the UK).
On our previous 450, this was my spare (just a secondhand front steel wheel bought on Ebay for £40) jambed in between passenger seat and rear door and tied down with cords. Brace and jack etc in a bag, fixed down on floor behind drivers seat, the umberella was hers ....
PS..It is possible to fit spare vertically behind seat if slid forward a bit, if it does not take up too much space in the area forward of the passenger seat. In my case wifes legs are too long and needed the front space.
On our 451, I fitted a spacesaver bought on Ebay for £110 and located behind the passenger seat, wedged in behind the metal rail of the luggage cover and tied down with cords , Brace and jack etc in a bag, fixed down on floor behind drivers seat. There is more space back there on a 451 so spare tyre fits vertically easily.
Wheel cover to hide everything was bought on Ebay for £10, brace £7 and jack £18 bought locally from a car parts shop. Cheers Col
