Default smart MADNESS Toys for Tots

Hello Fellow SoCal Smarties! First, we would like to be very clear. This event is not to conflict or compete with the toy run the prior weekend at the casino. We want SoCal smarties to show their holiday spirit for the little ones no matter which event you attend or better yet, if you can attend both

This is our 2nd annual Toys for Tots event and it just so happens to fall on the weekend immediately following LA Auto (where we hope you will come and visit our booth in Kentia Hall!).

The event will kick off at our house (SMART MADNESS) in the morning where we will host coffee, donuts, cider and tea.*Our registers will be closed during this event, this is strictly to benefit the kids!* We will then go for a fun run around town (yes the traffic circle and end up at Frisco’s for lunch where we will have designated parking for our smart cars. Lunch or the run is not mandatory as this event is completely up to the driver and co-pilot. Frisco’s lunch choices and menus are very affordable and more can be found online at Frisco's Restaurants, Catering, & Entertainment
Regarding the Toys for Tots Event, here are the details:

Who benefits from the donated toys- CHPs for Kids!
KCRA 3 and the CHP distribute the toys to hospitalized and disadvantaged children through UC Davis Children’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital, the Salvation Army, WEAVE, Head Start, Boys & Girls Club, Operation Rudolph, and other community service organizations.

What types of donations are needed?
Child-safe and educational toys brighten the holidays for babies and toddlers. Young children like board games, puzzles, crayons and coloring book sets, craft kits and building sets, Sports equipment (soccer, basketball and footballs) and hand-held video games work well for pre-teens. Teenagers (who are sometimes overlooked during toy drives) enjoy walkman radios and CD players, movie passes, phone calling cards, and gift certificates to clothing, variety, book and music stores.

Remember, SMART MADNESS will host coffee, tea, cider, donuts and you? Show your smartie spirit by bringing a new unwrapped toy for a little one this holiday. THANK YOU SOCAL SMARTIES YOU SIMPLY ROCK!
We have posted this event on several forums as well as facebook, if we have any updates we'll be sure to post them!

This event was grade A+. Cudos to Boris & Rachel and the Smartmadness Team for planning a very scenic and interesting drive in the Long Beach and Palos Verdes area. We even watched a brief airshow. Check out the photos at: SoCal Smarties (Los Angeles, CA) - Meetup.
